Hershey vs M&M’s on Facebook

Hershey chocolate has around 9.8 million likes and 9 million followers on Facebook. Most of the Hershey’s post are based on the new products that they are launching and provides different videos to promote their chocolates. Every video has 100k+ views on Facebook. Hershey use child slaves to get their cocoa in some videos.

Hershey also posted some of their products which are following:

·         Creamy milk chocolate bar

·         Whole almond bar

·         Special dark bar



·         Cookies ‘n’ crème drops

The two most recent successful post of Hershey are following:

·         The first post has 600k+ views on their video.  In this video their keyword sentence is   ‘Class is back in session, but Hershey’s and the power of chocolate never left’. Around 100 people has shared this post.

·         The second one is also a video which has around 400k views and 40 shares. In this video they are promoting their new product (NEW HERSHEY’s cookie + bars). The keyword sentence is ‘Your new favourite afternoon snack is available now in the chocolate aisle!’

M& M’s

M & M’s chocolate USA page has more than 10 million likes and around 10 million followers. Whereas M & M’s Canada page has only 180k likes and followers. They posted their videos in different ways to attract people and to promote their product.

The two most recently successful posts are:

·         The first video which they posted on Valentine’s Day has more than 1 million views. In this video they have told people about the recipe to make sweet buns.

·         The second one is a photo of its candies in which their keyword sentence is                  ‘How many purple M&M’s can you find?’

Both the brands has used the 50/50 rule in promoting their product because everyone use this rule because sometimes consumers change their mind so companies use this rule.
